Duration: Guests arriving in Brazil in DAY 1 and departing in DAY 5, visiting the Chapada Diamantina National Park, one of the main ecotourism destinations of Brazil.
Guest & Package Profile: Passengers will be able to know the huge and beautiful waterfalls, Grottos, lakes and the characteristic flat top mountains of Chapada Diamantina, and also have contact with all kinds of local folklore and the interesting native people. This is a great option for people interested in getting closer to nature and visiting new remote landscapes. There’s a good balance of moderate physical activity and leisure moments passing through marvelous natural places along the itinerary.
When to go: All the year round. December to February are the hottest months. Low season is from March to June and August to November.

ITINERARY - 5 DAYS / 4 NIGHTS PROGRAM
1st Day – LENÇÓIS - PAI INÁCIO
Arrival at Lençóis with accommodation at hotel. If there’s enough time, passengers will go for a light Trekking of 15min to see the sunset from the top of Morro do Pai Inácio (Father Inácio's Hill) at 1,240m height. From this point, they will have some of the most spectacular views of Chapada, with a series of flat mountains that are the main landmark of the region.
Overnight at Lençóis.
2nd Day - LENÇÓIS – GROTTOS
After breakfast, passengers leave to Poço do Diabo (Devil's Pool), a very dark place where they will be almost completely without any visibility. Fortunately, the acid materials responsible for the darkness inside the place are non pollutants.
Optional (paid locally) – Passengers have the option of practicing abseiling and flying fox.
The day continues at Pratinha, a balneary that is a real oasis in such an arid area. The bottom of the lake has countless micro-conchs, meaning that in the past this region used to be an ocean. Pratinha river formed many grottos in the limestone. Stop-over for lunch (lunch included).
Continue to Gruta Azul (Blue Grotto) located within walking distance to Pratinha. When the sunrays start to enter it and reach the water, it creates magic colors. Even Kids would remain surprisingly quiet admiring this wonder. There is a connection between this grotto and the lake, available only to specialized/certified divers.
Continue to Lapa Doce Grotto, the most beautiful grotto at Chapada Diamantina.
Return by the end of the day to Lençóis.
Overnight at Lençóis.
3rd Day – CAPÃO / IGATU – MARIMBUS TOUR CANOE OR TRAIL CAPÃO-GUINÉ
Option 1 – Marimbus Canoe Tour
After breakfast, passengers leave towards the Village of Remanso, near Andaraí, by the marshland called Marimbús, formed by the São José river. Remanso was founded by Mr Manuelzinho (who is still alive), and is inhabited by his immense family and friends (he had 21 children with his three wives). Continue with a tour on canoes through the river.
Lunch (included) at a farm with some close-by natural pools, where passengers can take a refreshing bath.
Afterwards, group will leave to Xique-Xique de Igatu, a small village also known as the Brazilian “Machu Picchu”.
Overnight at Igatu with Dinner (included).
Option 2 – Trail Capão-Guiné
After breakfast, group will start one of the most beautiful treks in the National Park. It’s about 15km until Guiné – a village. Along the trek, passegers will go through the beautiful fields “Gerais do Vieira” and "Ruinha", the old community center. They’ll have the opportunity to see the Pati Valley, which is considered one of the most beautiful Valleys in Brazil. Lunch box (included) during the trek.
Afterwards, group will leave to Xique-Xique de Igatu, a small village also known as the Brazilian “Machu Picchu”.
Overnight in Igatu with Dinner (included).
4th Day – IGATU / BURACÃO
o After breakfast, transfer to the south of the National Park of Chapada Diamantina, towards Ibicoara to visit one of the most beautiful places at Chapada. With more than 100 meters height of an impressive canyon, the “Cachoeira do Buracão” (Big hole Waterfall), is one of such breathtaking places. o Lunch Box (included). o Return to Xique-Xique de Igatu;
o Overnight in Igatu with Dinner (included).
5th Day – IGATU / LENÇÓIS – Enchanted Pool
After breakfast, group will leave to Poço Encantado (Enchanted Pool), one of the most visited places in Chapada. It’s a pool of crystal clear blue water, formed on limestone. The pool is around 100m long and 50m wide with a maximum depth of 61m. Between April and the beginning of September, especially in June and July, sunrays reach the surface of the pool creating a magic atmosphere. Swimming is forbiden at Poço Encantado due to conservation concerns. After Lunch (inlcuded), relax and swimming by the river nearby.
o After lunch in Andaraí, transfer to Lençóis in time for your bus, private transfer or plane
