Guest & Package Profile: This is a great option for discovering Brazilian richest region in terms of fauna and flora: the Pantanal. It is a package suitable for nature lovers who also want comfort. Covering an area of approximately 143,000 square miles, the Pantanal is the largest floodplain in the Americas. The area is unique in the world.
Savannah lowlands, floodplains and forests are influenced by the Amazon Forest and the scrublands of “Caatinga”, creating a vast mixture of ecosystems. The balance of these ecosystems depends entirely on the water cycles of wet and dry seasons in the region. Located amidst this unique and rare biological diversity is the ARARAS ECO LODGE (16º 30’ 42.3” South
latitude; 56º 42’ 39.4” West longitude).
Built in harmony with the environment, without renouncing comfort, the lodge is reachable all year-round by car via the Transpantaneira Park Road, south of Cuiabá (the capital of the State of Mato Grosso). From this lodge, with its enviably preserved surroundings, it is possible to do first-class bird-watching, trekking in pristine forest, canoeing, horseback riding, truck photo-safaris, night tours and much more, all under the assistance of expert bilingual naturalist guides.
When to go: All the year round. From January to March Pantanal is flooded. From April to July is drying out and from August to December it is dry. Low season is Jan to May. High season is Jun to Dec.

ITINERARY - 4 AYS / 3 NIGHTS
1st Day – Cuiaba / Pantanal (Araras Ecolodge)
Arrival at Cuiabá (CGB) airport and transfer to Pantanal lowlands. While crossing the area, it is possible to spot and appreciate the local flora & fauna. Sunset observation trekking through the surrounding area. After dinner, night tour to observe the nocturnal environment. Overnight at Araras Eco Lodge.
2nd Day– Pantanal (Araras Ecolodge)
Full day to observe Pantanal’s flora & fauna. After breakfast, the guide will lead guests by car, trekking and horseback ride, through this particular ecosystem, allowing guests to learn and understand the local environment. Overnight at Araras Eco Lodge.
3rd Day – Pantanal (Araras Ecolodge)
Exploration trip on the Pantanal raised dirt roads, including the Transpantaneira Park Road. Canoe tour to spot aquatic wildlife, birds and flora; possibility to arrange piranha fishing. Picnic lunch en route. Return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.
4th Day – Pantanal / Cuiaba – Departure
After breakfast, photo-safari along the Transpantaneira Park Road and return to Cuiabá. Drop off at airport (CGB).
Itinerary subject to changes in the order of the tours due to climatic and operational conditions.
TRANSFERS:
Transfers in the program above are in SIB basis. There are daily regular departures from Cuiaba Airport to
the lodge at 12:30 and 17:00 and from the lodge to the airport at 07:30 and 12:00.
