Carnival in Rio is one of the most famous and impressive events in the
world. The ones who had the chance to participate in it can confirm
this statement. This package is also a great opportunity explore the
marvelous city of Rio de Janeiro and visit its famous attractions. This
is a great option for people from all ages and tastes who want to party
and celebrate life;
When to go: Carnival takes
place all over Brazil and it is a huge feast that is tied to the
religious Calendar. Carnival activities in Brazil usually take place
from the Friday prior to Ash Wednesday and continue up to and including
Ash Wednesday itself. In some cities like Salvador the celebrations
will spill over through the entire week and include the following
weekend. One of the traditional highlights of carnival is the parade of
the top samba schools in Rio de Janeiro, which takes place on the
Sunday and Monday nights of carnival along the purpose built Passarela
do Samba (“Sambodromo”). It is a fierce competition and
these schools prepare for it during the whole year. The winners parade,
featuring the top samba schools from all the divisions, will take place
on the following Saturday.

ITINERARY - 6 DAYS / 5 NIGHTS
1st Day – Rio de Janeiro
Transfer-in from Airport to Hotel in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
Remaining day at leisure. Overnight in Rio.
2nd Day – Rio de Janeiro
Breakfast at hotel. Half-Day City Tour in Rio de Janeiro including
Corcovado (Christ Statue) by tram, Sambodromo and the Maracanã
Soccer Stadium “en passant”. Overnight in Rio.
3rd Day – Rio de Janeiro - Parade
Breakfast at hotel. Free morning and afternoon. Early at night,
transfer to the Sambodromo, where the Carnival parade takes place. The
parade goes on and on till early morning, but usually guests return to
hotel around 2AM. Transfer back to hotel (the transfers to/from the
Sambodrome are in SIB basis, not private). Overnight in Rio.
4th Day – Rio de Janeiro
Breakfast at hotel. Free day for relaxation and for guest to rest after
the previous day parade festivity.Overnight in Rio.
5th Day – Rio de Janeiro
Breakfast at hotel. Half-Day City Tour in Rio de Janeiro including
Sugar Loaf by cablecar, Beaches, and Rio downtown. Free night.
Overnight in Rio.
6th Day – Rio de Janeiro – Departure day
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer from hotel to airport early afternoon.

INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT ALTERNATIVES
This packaged trip starts and ends in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Guests will have to arrive in Rio de Janeiro’s
International Airport (Tom Jobim – GIG) in the morning of Day 1 and leave Brazil back to their home
country by the end of the program, from the same airport.
Carnival is the busiest period of the year in Rio de Janeiro. We recommend that guests reserve it in advance.
