Guest & Package Profile: This package is an unique opportunity to visit the historical colonial cities of São Luís and Alcantara and the marvelous region of the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park, one of the main ecotourism destinations of Brazil. The park is an immense are of sand dunes and lagoons. There are also marvelous beaches and rivers in the region. The package is also an opportunity to have contact with all kinds of local folklore and the interesting native people;
When to go: All the year round. The region is very close to the Equatorian line so that it has a great variationin the weather conditions throughout the year. High season is from December to February and also July.

ITINERARY - 7 DAYS/ 6 NIGHTS
1st Day - São Luis
Arrival in the morning at São Luis do Maranhão – considered a jewel of colonial architecture. The city was recognized by UNESCO in 1997 as a Patrimony of Mankind. Transfer to the Hotel. In the afternoon historical city tour. Return to the Hotel. Overnight at São Luis.
2nd Day - Alcântara
After breakfast, regular boat transfer to Alcantara (1 hour). The city remains with a similar aspect from the
days of the colonization ages in the 17th century. Lunch (included) and return to São Luis late afternoon.
Overnight at São Luis.
3rd Day – São Luis / Barreirinhas / Caburé
After breakfast, regular transfer to Barreirinhas between 05:00am and 06:00am. It takes aproximately 3 ½ hs. The municipal district of Barreirinhas is the entrance to the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park. Tour by boat through the Preguiça River. Our destiny is the APA (Área de Proteção Ambiental – Environment Protection Area) of the Pequenos Lençóis. Stop for lunch at Caburé (included). Free afternoon. Overnight at Caburé.
4th Day – Caburé / Barreirinhas
After breakfast, tour to the Mandacaru village. It’s a typical fisherman community. Afterwards, lighthouse
visit, where it is possible to visualize the dunes and the Preguiça River. Stop for lunch (not included). Visit to
the Flour House and transfer to Barreirinhas. Overnight at Barreirinhas.
5th Day - Barreirinhas
After breakfast, full day tour to the National Park. Guests will have an idea of the beauty and the dimension of Lençóis Maranhenses. The tour takes aproximately 2 hours in 4WD vehicles and an 1 hour walking
through the lagoons. Lunch box is included. Return to Barreirinhas in the end of the afternoon. Overnight at Barreirinhas.
6th Day – Barreirinhas / São Luis
Free morning. 05:00pm regular transfer to São Luis (approximately 3 ½ Hs). Arrive at São Luis and transferto the Hotel. Overnight at São Luis.
7th Day – São Luis - Departure
Breakfast at hotel. Check-out and transfer to the airport.
